What short stories address the subject of mental illness/insanity?
CelticSaint asked:
Basically I would like to try to illustrate a short story, but my knowledge of literature is leting me down. Are there any famous short stories which deal with the subject of mental illness/insanity. Thankyou in advance for your time.

Practically everything written by Edgar Alan Poe
would help you. Also look for stories by Ambrose Bierce.
Then, of course, there’s Rod Serling, whose “Twilight Zone” is now in about its third reincarnation.

“The Yellow Wallpaper” and “The Awakening” are both novellas, really, but they are not too long and both very interesting, maybe they would be good!
