I know of, mainly, “The New Yorker” but am having trouble finding other outlets for short story publication. I do not write in a strange specialty genre like sci-fi or romance, just more general writing along the lines of Marquez, Kafka, etc (not to compare myself). Not necessarily magic realism, have you, but just more “literary” short stories. Any help is appreciated.

I’m from the UK and wondering which magazines are the best to write to. Is there a method to getting stories printed or is it just a case of writing to as many places as possible and hoping for the best?
Would be grateful for any advice from anybody who has penned short stories.
I was thinking more along the lines of practical advice. But thanks!
