I searched for sites and publications online. If you have done this in the past or are familiar with this area, what sources would you suggest? What should I avoid?

I think I should try my best to find a short stories for myself to type it down or copy it down onto either a piece of a line paper or use the computer and type it down by using either the notepad or the wordpad or the Microsoft work program because I don’t want to waste my own time writing or typing a long story paragraph from a book that I just bought from the bookstore or at the mall though!
